Courtesy Cars in Cardiff
Being without your car should not bring your week to a halt. CF3 MOT & Service Centre offers courtesy cars, subject to availability, so you can keep driving while we work on yours. Book it in, pick up the loan car, carry on as normal.
A courtesy car earns its keep most when a job takes more than a couple of hours, or when parts have to come in overnight. Rather than juggling lifts or losing a day, you drive away and come back when your car is ready.
When can you have a courtesy car?
Drivers ask for one most often when:
- A repair or service will keep the car in for the day
- Parts need ordering, so the car stays overnight
- They rely on the car for work, commuting into Cardiff each day
- The school run or daily routine cannot pause around a garage visit

Courtesy car or collection and delivery?
If you need to keep driving while your car is in, a courtesy car is the answer. If you simply want your car taken and returned without attending at all, collection and delivery is the better fit. For a longer job, the two work well together. Either way, the goal is the same: the work gets done without costing you a day.
Keep driving while we work
Drop your car off, take a loan car, come back when yours is ready. Best when you need to stay fully mobile.
Never attend the garage
We collect from home or work and return it when done. Best when you want no trip at all.
For a longer job, the two work well together. Either way, the goal is the same: the work gets done without costing you a day.
What jobs is it worth asking for one?
A courtesy car makes most sense on the bigger jobs, from a cambelt replacement to a full service with extra work, where the car is in for several hours or overnight. For a quick job you are often better waiting, and we will tell you honestly which applies.
Longer jobs
- Cambelt replacement
- Full service with extra work
- Brake or suspension repair
- Any job where parts are ordered in
- Overnight work
Quicker jobs
- MOT only
- Tyre fitting
- Puncture repair
- Wheel alignment check
- Diagnostic scan
Not sure which yours is? We will tell you honestly when you book so you can decide whether a courtesy car makes sense.
Courtesy car questions.
Are courtesy cars always available?
No, they are limited and allocated first come, first served, which is why we ask you to request one when you book rather than on the day.
Do I need my own insurance for the courtesy car?
We will explain exactly what cover applies and what you need to provide when you book. Bring a valid driving licence and we will sort the rest with you.
Is there a charge for a courtesy car?
We will confirm any charge, deposit or fuel terms at the time of booking, so you know where you stand before you collect it.
What if no courtesy car is free for my date?
We can usually arrange collection and delivery instead, so you still avoid losing a day even when a loan car is not available.
Can I get a courtesy car for an MOT?
If the MOT is combined with longer work, often yes. For an MOT on its own you may be better waiting or using collection and delivery, and we will advise.
