Who we are

CF3 MOT and Service Centre is an independent garage in Rumney, east Cardiff, led by Ali Hindal. We have been looking after cars and vans for Cardiff drivers since 2013, from the same unit at Wentloog Buildings on Wentloog Road. Most of our customers live within a few miles of the workshop, in Rumney, Llanrumney, St Mellons and Trowbridge, and many more come in from across the city and beyond.

We are not a franchise and we are not a fast-fit centre. The people who answer the phone are the people who look after the car, which is why we can talk you through what we found, show you the worn part and give you a straight price before any work goes ahead.

What we do under one roof

The idea behind the business is simple: a car should not need three different garages to get through an MOT. We test, repair and retest in the same building, and we carry out the work that many smaller garages send elsewhere.

Our workshop on Wentloog Road

The workshop has six work bays, a dedicated welding area, a diagnostics area and an on-site spray booth. That layout means an MOT, a structural repair and a paint job can all happen in the same place without the car being moved between businesses. Accident damage, panel and paint work is handled by our sister bodyshop on the same site, Cardiff Accident Repair. We work on petrol, diesel and hybrid cars from all the major manufacturers, as well as vans and motorhomes.

As a DVSA-approved MOT testing station, our tests follow the DVSA inspection standard, and every result is recorded on the national MOT database, where you can check your car's history free on GOV.UK.

How we work with customers

Every job follows the same three rules. We give you a price before we start. We ring you before doing anything beyond the agreed work. And we explain what we found in plain terms, so you can decide what to do rather than being told.

We also try to fit around your day. Evening appointments after 5pm and Saturday appointments can be pre-booked, collection and delivery covers east Cardiff, and a courtesy car is available for longer jobs. Our evening and weekend appointments page explains how late bookings work.

Where our customers come from

Distances from the garage to the areas our customers most often come from.

Rumney, Llanrumney and St Mellons are all within about a mile and a half, close enough to drop the car off and walk home. Drivers regularly travel from Penarth, Radyr, Pentyrch, Caerphilly and Newport for evening appointments, welding and MOT repairs. Our areas we cover page shows how each part of Cardiff gets the car to us, and our case studies show the kind of work we do.
